Each ingredient is hand selected for its superior quality with the understanding that if you want to make an exceptional product you have to start with exceptional ingredients.  This is what we've done here at the Art of African Beauty.  We've used a proprietary blend of all natural plant based ingredients to create products that will make your hair sing! We’ve listed a few of our superstar ingredients below.

Moringa

Moringa is native to Africa. Its leaves are extremely nutrient dense. It is rich in vitamins and minerals such as vitamin A, vitamin E, vitamin K, iron and calcium. We’ll put it in perspective for you; just 3.5 ounces (100g) of moringa has 17 times more calcium than milk; 25 times more iron than spinach, 10 times more beta carotene than carrots and that’s just to name a few of it’s benefits. Moringa heals dry damaged hair and promotes growth. This is why we’ve chosen this African superfood as the foundational ingredient in our cuticle sealer. It will nourish and heal your strands with all the essential vitamins and minerals your hair will need to be healthy, hydrated and strong.

Shea

Shea butter comes from the nut of the Shea tree which is indigenous to Africa. It’s use dates back to at least the 14th century. Well you know how the saying goes - if it ain’t broke; don’t fix it. They used it back then and we use it today. Why? Because it works! She butter is an excellent emollient that moisturizes and protects our precious curls and coils. It’s been used on the continent for centuries because of its ability to aid in collagen production and contains oleic, stearic, palmitic and linolenic acids which aid in protecting the hair and preventing moisture loss. We use Shea in our butters for all these reason and more.

Eucalyptus

Eucalyptus is nature’s cleanser, healer and stimulator. It’s well known as an anti-microbial, antibacterial, anti-fungal, antiviral and antiseptic. These properties assist in the reduction of infection. This is why we’ve chosen this herb as a key component in our Neem and Eucalyptus Cleansing Conditioner. It’s presences along with the other wonderful ingredients make it an excellent co-wash option that will cleanse and hydrate your tresses when your in between wash days.
